Summer Surfing ?
16th-17th August

The summer surfing weekend is a firm fixture in Frome Canoe Clubs calander. The biggest question about this trip, is how quick can you leave work on Friday evening?

It’s Summer so it’s time for a holiday. How does the idea of a weekend in Cornwall surfing sound to you? Interested, then this could be the trip for you. What's the plan? We will be staying just outside of Wadebrigde in easy striking distance of several of Cornwall's best beaches. We aim travel down on the Friday matching peoples departure time with drivers.

This is a great trip for families as there is lots to do in the area.

There is nothing to stop you extending your trip by either coming down early or going home late (providing you’re doing the driving).
If you want to come on this trip please let me know as soon as possible.

For the surfing weekend we are unable to accept unaccompanied children. If you're a youngster and wish to come just drag your parents along that's fine, They don't have to paddle, just so long as they can look after you on the beach and at the campsite.

Camping is £8 per person per night see www.dinhamfarm.co.uk for more information on the lovely laid back campsite that we use. Food is bring your own. In the past we have arrange a group BBQ for the Saturday night which even in the rain (last year) was great fun.

Surfing at Woolacombe

"Surf trips are good for paddlers of all abilities"

Surfing is a staple activity for Frome Canoe Club during the summer months, providing fun for paddlers of all abilities and an opportunity for families to accompany you on a trip.

The sea is a powerful beast deserving of respect all the time. It can be deceptively calm or be a fearsome sight with huge waves crashing on to the rocks and beaches.

Surf trips are good for paddlers of all abilities. For those just starting out keeping close to the beach is sensible allowing skills to be gained where the waves have lost much of there power. As your skill levels progress you'll want to be heading out to where the waves are green.
